All Natural, Sustainable Fibres Used

I am deeply committed to preserving our planet's health and beauty. I proudly use only all-natural, sustainable fibers in our products, driven by a firm belief that reducing pollution is crucial to safeguarding our environment for future generations. By choosing materials that are kind to both the earth and its inhabitants, we aim to set a standard for responsible production and inspire others to join me in this vital mission. Together, we can make a positive impact and foster a more sustainable world.

Hand-dyed and Handspun Where Possible

I celebrate the artistry and skill of my local community by incorporating handspun and hand-dyed yarns whenever possible. By collaborating with talented local dyers and spinners, we not only support our neighbors but also ensure each creation is infused with unique character and craftsmanship. My commitment is to weave together a future where environmental stewardship and local artistry are at the heart of every beat.

Need to Know Washing Instructions

To ensure the longevity and beauty of your natural fiber creations, it's essential to follow proper care instructions.

For cotton and bamboo items, we recommend gentle machine washing in cold water or hand washing to preserve their softness and color.

Alpaca, mohair and any other wool creations require a bit more attention—hand wash in cool water using a mild detergent designed for these fibers, and avoid wringing or twisting to prevent distortion.

Finally, silk and kidsilk should be washed with utmost care; hand wash in cold water with a silk-friendly detergent, and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight. By following these guidelines, you’ll maintain the integrity and elegance of your cherished pieces for years to come.

Battle of the Sexes

When selecting scarves, it’s helpful to consider the weaving preferences often associated with different styles and needs.

Typically, scarves woven by women feature a soft, drapey texture with a looser weave, providing a gentle and flowing feel.

In contrast, men generally prefer scarves with a denser weave, resulting in a thicker and more robust fabric. This sturdier construction is not only preferred for its durability but also helps prevent issues like beard shadows catching on finer, loosely woven materials.

Keeping these preferences in mind can make a significant difference when choosing the perfect gift, ensuring that it aligns with the recipient's style and comfort.

Length and Width Details

I understand that everyone has their own unique style and needs when it comes to scarves. That’s why I offer a diverse range of sizes to suit different preferences and body types.

My scarves come in four distinctive options:

  • Thin and long for a delicate, elegant drape,
  • Wide and long for a luxurious, enveloping feel,
  • Thin and short for a chic, versatile accessory, and
  • Wide and short for a cozy, snug fit.

For those who love an extra touch of indulgence, we also offer scarves that are both extraordinarily long and wide. These are labeled: Riddikulus

Shawls are clearly labeled to distinguish them from our scarf collection.

Our goal is to provide options that cater to every individual, ensuring you find the perfect piece that complements your personal style and comfort.

Sourced Locally in South Africa

I am proud to say that I source all my materials locally from South Africa. By prioritizing local suppliers, I not only ensure the highest quality and freshness but also contribute to the growth and sustainability of our regional economy. Supporting local artisans and businesses is at the core of my values, and I believe that by fostering these connections, we strengthen our community and reduce our environmental footprint. Every fiber and yarn I use tells a story of local craftsmanship and dedication, and I am honored to be part of this vibrant network of South African talent.
